In some cases, when a previously activated software key has been completely deleted, it can be restored through the repeated activation procedure.
Software key reactivation can only be performed on the same computer where the key was initially installed and only if it was not moved from this computer.
It is impossible to reactivate a key that has already been installed in the system. It is also impossible to reactivate the key if it was removed using the GrdLicenseRemove() function.
When reactivating, the balance remains unchanged, the user simply reuses the existing software key.
The balance does not change after reactivation process. The user reuses an existing software key.
The key cannot be reactivated:
- if it containes memory items with Write Access type;
- if it has already been moved to another computer;
- if the features limited by the number of launches where specified for this key;
- if it is network license that marked as detachable in Guardant Station;
- if the GrdLicenseRemove function was used to remove the license.
There are two ways to reactivate the license: online and offline.
It is possible to reactivate the license using the Guardant License Wizard for your own computer or for another one.
License reactivation for the current computer
If the computer is connected to the Internet, you can reactivate the license online.
To reactivate the license online for the current computer follow the steps:
- Open the the Guardant License Wizard.
- Click License activation.
- In the utility window, click On this.
- If you have a serial number:
- Select the Serial number tab.
- Enter the serial number in the input field
- Click Get license. - If you have a license file:
- Select the License file or rehost file tab.
- Click Select a file.
- Select the license file and click Open.
If the computer is not connected to the Internet, then to reactivate the license another computer with Internet access is necessary.
To reactivate an offline license for the current computer using another one follow the steps:
- Open the Guardant License Wizard on a computer that is not connected to the Internet.
- Click License activation.
- In the utility window, click On this.
- In the utility window, click the Offline activation link.
- Select the New license tab and click Save. Save the request file on the computer and transfer it to the one with Internet access.
- Click Continue.
- On the computer that is connected to the Internet, open the Guardant License Wizard.
- Click License activation.
- Click On another.
- Click Continue.
- Click Select a file and choose the request file on the computer.
- Enter the license serial number and click Activate a new license.
- Click Save. Save the license file on the computer and transfer it to the computer that is not connected to the Internet.
- If you did not close the Guardant License Wizard on the computer that is not connected to the Internet:
- In the window for activating the license, click Continue, I have the license file.
- Click Select a file.
- Select the license file and click Open. - If you closed the Guardant License Wizard on a computer that is not connected to the Internet:
- Launch it.
- Click License activation.
- Click On this.
- Click the Offline activation link.
- Click Continue.
- Click Continue, I have the license file.
- Click Select a file.
- Select the license file and click Open.
Reactivating a license for another computer
If it is necessary to prepare a license file that will be used on another computer, use this procedure.
To reactivate a license for another computer follow the steps:
- Open the Guardant License Wizard on the computer where you want to activate the license.
- Click License activation.
- In the utility window, click On another.
- Receive the request file from the computer where you want to use the license:
- Open the Guardant License Wizard on it.
- Click License activation.
- Click On this.
- Click the Offline activation link.
- Click Save. This will download the request file.
- Send this file to the computer where you want to reactivate the license. - Click Continue on the computer where you want to reactivate the license.
- Click Select a file and choose the request file on the computer.
- Enter the license serial number and click Activate a new license.
