When both computers, the host and the second one, are on the same network.
GCC must be installed on the second computer. To open GCC, in the browser address bar, enter the address or the name of the computer where GCC is installed and the network port - 3189. Example: http://localhost:3189.
For online detachment
To detach the license follow the steps below:
- Open GCC on the second computer,
- On the Dongles page, find the needed key
- Find the line with the required feature or product and click Detach License
- Select the feature you want to detach (for the local ones detachment is not available)
- In the "Where the license will be used" section, select "On this computer"
- Specify the number of days for which you want to detach the license and click the "Detach License" button.
- Enter your GCC login password and click Login. A message "Done! License was detached." will appear
Check that the selected features have a license validity period longer than the period selected during the detachment step.
By default, the maximum detachment period is 30 days. This value can be changed in the Settings section on the Detached Licenses page.
It is not recommended to set a value greater than 30 days, since the license cannot be returned in advance without access to the second computer.
- A local key (with its own ID) is created for the detached license - the lifetime of the key depends on the number of days for which the license is detached
After the detached period has expired, the license will return to its original state automatically
If it is necessary to return the license earlier, you need to click Return license to the public access on the second computer in GCC on the local key in Detach section
